I stopped by Walt Disney World on the way home from work today. The purpose was just to spend some time around the property without being at the parks. Don’t feel bad for me, I’m taking the family to the parks tomorrow, but I just needed some alone time to walk around other destinations.
My destination ended up being the Boardwalk Resort along with the Swan and Dolphin hotels by Marriott. Unfortunately, I chose my shoes poorly and ended up calling it quits after those two, which is majorly against my character, but I digress as that’s a personal problem, right?
Oh, by the way… there’s a new hotel extension coming to the Swan and Dolphin. Keep reading…
I learned that there will be a new hotel addition to compliment the Swan and Dolphin will be built in the super small plot of land that used to be their tennis courts. This was a rumor last year that was supposedly debunked, but according to a Concierge for the hotel as of August 2018, this is a real project moving forward.
More importantly for me, however, I learned that I really miss an old idea I had back in high school to create an evergreen type of website to showcase various entertainment and nature destinations within the state of Florida. Apparently my own idea factory is like Disney Imagineering and “no good idea every dies”.
As you may have read previously, I’ve been looking for a project to embark upon that involves the Walt Disney World resort, but haven’t—at least not yet—decided what that project should be. Today’s trip recitilized my desire to create an evergreen information resource (as opposed to the currently plentiful communities and social media content channels) for Disney vacationers and day-trippers.
I’m still not 100% sure that I’ve settled on a direction, but at least I know a bit better what I am, and am not, interested in doing.
